About the 48HR IDRC Program:
About the 48 Hour Intoxicated Driver Resource Center Program
New Hope Integrated Behavioral Health Care services residents of Atlantic, Bergen, Burlington, Camden, Cape May, Cumberland, Gloucester, Hudson, Hunterdon, Mercer, Middlesex, Monmouth, Ocean, Salem, Somerset, Union and Warren Counties who have been ordered to participate in a 48-hour IDRC program by the court of conviction in accordance with N.J.A.C. 10-162 and scheduled to attend this program by the Intoxicated Driving Program (IDP). New Hope 48HR IDRC is responsible for providing the 48HR educational and screening program for individuals convicted of various statutes pertaining to operating under the influence.
If you are sentenced to a 48HR IDRC program, you will be detained, receive an “at-risk” screening, and attend an early intervention educational program during a period of 48 consecutive hours. If you are referred for a substance use disorder assessment as part of the IDRC program you must successfully complete treatment (if recommended) as part of your sentence/conviction requirements.
Class Location:
NH 48HR IDRC conducts both virtual and in person classes
Virtual classes are held over Zoom
In-person classes are held at 86 Conover Road, Marlboro, NJ
Initial Scheduling:
Clients will receive a scheduling notice by mail approximately 2 to 4 weeks after being convicted. Please note that the 48HR IDRC is not responsible for initial scheduling and cannot accommodate walk-in participants for classes under any circumstances.
If you do not receive your scheduling notice within 4 weeks of your conviction date, please contact the IDP Call Center at 609-815-3100.
Please note that New York residents must take an in-person class to satisfy NY MVC.
Virtual Class Hours & Attendance:
- First day: 3pm to 10pm
- Second day: 9am-4pm
- Third day: 9am-3pm
You are mandated to remain on your property for 48 consecutive hours. If you choose to leave at any time, you will be considered in violation of your court order.
Registration begins promptly at 3PM. Late arrivals will not be permitted under any circumstances. Participants are required to attend all sessions consecutively in order to meet the program requirements as mandated by law.
Clients will only be admitted with appropriate photo identification no more than 5-years old.
Individuals who appear to be under the influence of alcohol, controlled substances, or any impairing agent at the time of class will be denied entry and/or removed from the class.
Class Fee & Payment Instructions:
The fee for the class is $321 + $10 processing fee totaling $331, which must be paid in full 2 weeks prior to scheduled class dates. This fee is separate from any court-imposed fines, fees, or restoration costs charged by or paid to the Motor Vehicle Commission and State Offices. Failure to pay this fee will result in being denied entry into the class and will also result in program noncompliance.
