New Hope IBHC is excited to be part of the Recovery Diversion Program created by the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office. The RDP is a 12 week to 6 month diversion program that provides treatment support and resources to defendants with substance use and co-occurring disorders. This program was piloted in the Long Branch Municipal Court in November 2021.
The Municipal Prosecutor will offer the RDP to defendants, where appropriate, at arraignments. The defendant will then meet with a recovery specialist from Hope Sheds Light. They will explain the program and schedule a recovery specialist appointment with Hope Sheds Light and an intake appointment with New Hope IBHC or CPC Behavioral Healthcare. The participant will then begin treatment at the recommended care level.
Eligible defendants would be non-violent, low level offenders with a substance use or co-occurring disorder. Current charges, criminal history and courtroom observations are considered by the Prosecutor in recommending the program.
The RDP Program is currently offered to eligible defendants in Long Branch and Asbury Park Municipal Courts.
