New Hope provides for practicum, internship, and training placements under the agreement and in collaboration with colleges, universities, and accredited training programs throughout New Jersey. Competitive applications from those enrolled in educational institutions outside of this area are considered. Selective appointments to a limited number of available positions are ongoing and we recommend applicants apply 3 to 6 months prior to the time that they anticipate entering a placement. Those successfully enrolled receive an educational experience aligned with academic work and clinically supervised real-world experiences designed to turn that knowledge into clinical skills in practice. Our goal is to prepare healthcare workers with the ability to recognize, work and treat, or successfully refer those with substance use disorders that they encounter in their work and to help grow the next generation of addiction treatment specialists and leaders in the field.
